
Delhi Police today organised the Felicitation Ceremony of the Delhi Police Summer Internship Programme–2026 at Police Headquarters. Shri Anurag Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, felicitated sixteen young innovators for successfully developing citizen centric solutions.
Launched to foster collaboration between Delhi Police and premier academic institutions, the internship commenced on 08 June 2026 and received an overwhelming response, with over 400 applications from students across leading universities and technical institutions. Following a rigorous selection process, 16 students from IIT Delhi, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), Jamia Hamdard, Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology (GTBIT) and other leading universities were selected

Working under the mentorship of officers of the Tech & Project Implementation Division of Delhi Police, the interns developed four functional solutions. These solutions are expected to enhance administrative efficiency, streamline internal processes, strengthen citizen services and support the digital transformation initiatives of Delhi Police through the adoption of AI based solutions.
Addressing the young interns, Shri Anurag Kumar, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Delhi, congratulated them for their dedication, innovation and technical excellence, and emphasized the importance of academia-police collaboration in developing technology-driven solutions for modern policing. He presented Certificates Appreciation and souvenirs to all sixteen interns in recognition of their outstanding contribution.

The successful completion of the Delhi Police Summer Internship Programme–2026 marks an important milestone in Delhi Police’s efforts to strengthen collaboration with academia and leverage the expertise of young minds for developing practical technology solutions. Besides providing students with exposure to real-world policing challenges, the programme has resulted in software solutions that will contribute to the modernization and digital transformation of Delhi Police.
