The iconic Dr. SPM Swimming Pool atmosphere met world-class aquatic energy as the prestigious Delhi Open Talent Search Swimming Competition 2026 wrapped up in breathtaking fashion at the legendary Dr. SPM Swimming Pool Complex. Reaffirming its status as India’s largest one-day swimming championship, the event transformed the nation’s capital into a buzzing hub of speed, endurance, and sporting passion.
The high-octane championship saw over 700 (1200 entries) aquatic athletes representing 300 premier institutions across 9 Indian states and 3 international nations. In a masterclass of sports execution, organizers smoothly conducted 120 events across 184 electric races in a non-stop, single-day marathon of athleticism.
True to its core vision of sports-for-all, the lanes welcomed competitors spanning eight decades—from budding 4-year-old prodigies to inspirational 82-year-old masters swimmers—proving that passion for the water knows no boundaries.
The morning proceedings were inaugurated by Mr. Mohinder Singh (Ex. DIG, CRPF), while Dr. Supratic Gupta (Professor, IIT Delhi) presided over the valedictory ceremony. The event drew prominent sports figures, including open-water legend Dr. Meenakshi Pahuja, Mr. Dilip (Administrator, Dr. SPM Complex), Mr. Sanjay Bisht (Former Administrator, Dr. SPM Complex), and Mr. Harish Tokas. The championship was spearheaded under the visionary direction of former international swimmer Mr. Raja Ram Tokas.
Highlighting the event’s national footprint, Dr. Jitender Tokas, Organising Secretary, stated:
“This stands as a unique movement in Indian swimming where age is no barrier. From a toddler taking their first competitive splash to veteran masters pushing their limits, every athlete gets equal spotlight. That unifying energy defines our legacy.”
The grand scale of the championship was supported by leading corporate and institutional partners, including Co-sponsor Policy Bazaar, Supratic Trust, ESC Medicams, Vendihalt, and AA.
