NEW DELHI, Aug. 8, 2026 Vardhman Mahavir Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital (VMMC & SJH) today formally received a Golf Cart from the Rotary Club of Delhi South East. The Golf Cart was formally handed over to the hospital during an inauguration ceremony held today at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital.
The contributed Golf Cart has been provided to facilitate the movement of patients, elderly individuals, persons with disabilities, and attendants within the hospital premises. The initiative is aimed at making healthcare services more accessible by reducing mobility challenges and ensuring greater convenience for patients visiting one of the country’s largest tertiary care hospitals.
Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi, Hon’ble Former Minister of State for External Affairs & Culture, Government of India, appreciated the initiative and emphasized that collaborative efforts between public institutions and service organizations play a significant role in strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving accessibility for patients. Dr. Kavita Sharma, Director, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Rotary Club of Delhi South East for its generous contribution and appreciated the Club’s continued support towards enhancing patient care and strengthening healthcare services. Dr. Charu Bamba, Medical Superintendent, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, also conveyed her sincere appreciation to the Rotary Club for its thoughtful contribution and acknowledged the importance of such initiatives in improving patient experience within the hospital. The formal handover and inauguration of the Golf Cart was graced by Smt.
