
New Delhi: The Cleanliness Committee of Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi, successfully organized a seven-day National Workshop on the theme “Swachhata Hi Sewa” in collaboration with Let’s Do It India Foundation, under the aegis of the Swachh Bharat Mission. The initiative included a week-long Swachhata Abhiyaan – Campus Cleaning Drive, followed by a special session on “Swachhata Hi Sewa: Promoting Awareness, Collective Action, and Accountability.”
The workshop aimed to promote awareness, encourage collective responsibility, and strengthen accountability towards cleanliness, hygiene, and sustainable practices within the college campus. Awareness campaigns were conducted across the Old and New Academic Blocks, along with an interactive consultative session involving the Cleanliness Committee and Canteen Management to discuss hygiene standards, waste management, and sustainable practices.
Students actively participated in a poster-making activity on “Swachhata Hi Sewa – Our Campus, Our Responsibility.” The workshop also featured sessions on waste management and segregation by Dr. Sonal Bhatnagar, and on the role of technology in cleanliness and sanitation by Dr. Manish Kumar Singh.
The programme concluded with a special valedictory session by Mr. Pradeep Singh, Director, Let’s Do It India Foundation, followed by a Swachhata Pledge Ceremony. Students from various disciplines participated enthusiastically in all the activities and sessions, making the national workshop a meaningful and impactful initiative.
The workshop was conducted under the guidance and leadership of Prof. Neelam Goel and was organized and coordinated by Dr. Ravinder Singh, Convener, and Ms. Bineet Kaur Chandok, Co-Convener of the Cleanliness Committee.
