Building Global Bridges: Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women Hosts U.S. Innovation & Sustainability Delegation 2026

Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women, University of Delhi, in collaboration with the Let’s Do It India Foundation, hosted a delegation of entrepreneurs, innovators, public policy, and sustainability leaders from the United States and New Zealand. The visit created a vibrant platform for insightful discussions on innovation and sustainability, along with an engaging interactive session with faculty members and students.

The delegation included Prof. Pankaj Choudhary, Founder, Let’s Do It India Foundation; Mr. Vikramjit Sandhu, Executive Vice Chair, Special Controls Review Panel, Ohio State; Mr. Manjot Singh, President and Owner, BMG Recycling & Resources LLC / Bay Metal Inc.; Mr. Rob Richards, President, BMG Asset Management LLC; Mr. Christopher Weeter, Chief Executive Officer, National Core Auto Parts; Mr. Amit Saha, Chief Executive Officer, NIVAS LLC; Mr. Max Ferguson, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Lumin; Mr. Snehal Patel, President, EHM Constructions and QSR; Mr. Mujtaba Luqman, Head of Marketing and Research, Let’s Do It India Foundation; Mr. Pradeep Malik, Director, Let’s Do It India Foundation, and Mr. Kamalveer Singh. The delegation represented a multi-sector ecosystem with strong relevance to India in the areas of digital transformation, circular economy, engineering exports, infrastructure development, and sustainable business practices.

After their formal welcome with Angavastras by the Principal, Prof Neelam Goyal, the dignitaries spoke about their work, sectors, and also about their own entrepreneurial and professional journeys. The interaction also became a productive occasion for the College to present some of its own ongoing institutional and committee-based work. Particular attention was drawn to the work being done by Durva, the Eco Club, and Udgam, the Incubation Center. These introductions enabled a meaningful conversation between the delegates’ professional areas and the College’s own commitments to sustainability, innovation, student development, and entrepreneurial thinking.
In the interactions between the delegation and the students, there were spirited discussions about educational and professional prospects in the US for students from different domains. Many students articulated a desire for their work to remain connected to the needs of their own country. The delegates responded with striking openness and nuance. The interaction moved beyond a simple opposition between “going abroad” and “staying back,” and instead invited students to think in more complex and contemporary terms about mobility, responsibility, and contribution in an interconnected world.

At the close of the visit, the guests were gifted hampers containing gift items made in-house by Durva (the Eco Club) using recycled material. The delegation was seen off by the Principal and the coordination committee, comprising Prof. Manjula Grover, Dr. Rajkumar Falwaria, Dr. Ravinder Singh, and Ms. Nupur Mittal.
