It is submitted that a Mock Drill was conducted at Nehru Place Market on 07.08.2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:20 AM to assess the preparedness and coordinated response of various emergency response agencies in the event of a terrorist incident involving bomb explosions.
As per the exercise plan, a simulated bomb blast scenario was created by the National Security Guard (NSG) at two different locations in Nehru Place Market. To initiate the emergency response mechanism, a mock PCR call regarding the incident was generated by the Beat Officer and flashed through the Police Control Room.
Immediately upon receipt of the PCR call, the local police and all concerned emergency response agencies activated their respective Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and rushed to the spot without delay. The area was secured, access to the affected locations was regulated, and rescue and evacuation operations were initiated in a coordinated manner.
The mock drill was supervised by senior officers. Addl. DCP/South East, ACP/Kalkaji, SHO/Kalkaji, ATO/Kalkaji, Bravo Staff, and the entire staff of PS Kalkaji remained present throughout the exercise to supervise and coordinate the operational response.

- Traffic Police
- Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA)

- Centralized Accident & Trauma Services (CATS)
During the exercise, the incident site was immediately cordoned off, traffic was regulated, and crowd management measures were implemented. Bomb detection and anti-sabotage checks were carried out by the BDS/BDT with the assistance of the Dog Squad. Simultaneously, rescue teams evacuated the mock injured victim from the affected area.
As part of the simulation, one mock injured person was safely evacuated and shifted to AIIMS Hospital by a PCR vehicle within 20 minutes of the simulated incident, thereby demonstrating the promptness and efficiency of the emergency response system.
The participating agencies displayed excellent coordination, effective communication, and timely response throughout the exercise. All operational objectives of the mock drill were achieved successfully without any untoward incident.
The mock drill concluded successfully at 11:20 AM. The exercise proved beneficial in evaluating the preparedness, inter-agency coordination, communication network, emergency response capabilities, and overall disaster management mechanism for handling such contingencies.
A comprehensive report containing observations, response timelines, strengths, shortcomings (if any), and recommendations for further improvement will be submitted separately to the concerned branch.
