CAIT to Advance PM Modi’s Vision of Transforming Indian Brands into Global Brands
With the objective of furthering Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Vocal for Local – Local to Global, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) has taken a significant initiative by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Rasna in New Delhi today. This agreement is being regarded as an important step towards giving Indian products and brands a stronger identity in domestic and global markets, while empowering indigenous trade.

This partnership is expected to prove to be a historic step in providing new directions to collaboration between industry and trade, particularly in the context of the upcoming Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 being organized by CAIT.
The MoU was signed on behalf of CAIT by National President B.C. Bhartia, by Rasna Group Chairman and Managing Director Piruuz Khambatta, and by Rajeev Mallik, CEO of iPoint Ventures. Member of Parliament from Chandni Chowk, Delhi, and CAIT National Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal was also specially present on the occasion.
Under this agreement, Rasna Private Limited, CAIT, and iPoint Ventures Pvt. Ltd. will work jointly across multiple areas including trade expansion, digital solutions, skill development, training, micro-enterprise incubation, advocacy, and support through mutual cooperation.
The primary objective of this partnership is to expand Rasna’s beverage and allied businesses both in India and overseas. Through CAIT’s extensive network of thousands of trade associations across the country, new business opportunities will be created, reaching villages and small towns nationwide.
The Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 will be held from 1st to 4th May 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The event will serve as a major platform to showcase India’s manufacturing capabilities, MSME strength, innovation, retail expansion, and export potential at the global level.
On this occasion, MP and CAIT National Secretary General Praveen Khandelwal stated that under the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this agreement marks a significant step toward empowering indigenous products in the global marketplace. He emphasized that while the world currently views India primarily as a large consumer market, Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 will help transform this perception, positioning India as a strong manufacturing and exporting nation.
CAIT National President B.C. Bhartia said that CAIT has always worked toward strengthening Indian retail trade. Bharatiya Vyapar Mahotsav 2026 will certainly change global perceptions about Indian products and help them gain a new identity in international markets.
Rasna Group Chairman Piruuz Khambatta stated that Rasna and CAIT will jointly launch an Indian B2B digital portal where retailers across the country will be able to place orders online. This portal will embody the spirit of Local to Global and accelerate the expansion of Indian products by directly connecting them with business networks. Rasna is pleased as a Make in India Brand, to tie up with a real pillar of Indian FMCG trade and the members associated with CAIT, in a first of its kind arrangement by which Rasna would take concrete steps to support members of CAIT with World Class Rasna products in time with best prices, better than available on any other platform including MNC platforms. It is high time that Indian companies support Indian trade with such tie-ups, and Rasna is a torch bearer in this initiative. I am sure that this will be a window for future opportunities for CAIT with other Indian companies. I thank the Hon. Prime Minister for new generation GST reforms which have revived the FMCG businesses. The FMCG business now needs to foster partnerships like the one Rasna is doing with CAIT to take it further. I also would like to thank Hon. Prime Minister for his vision of Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat, to take it further Rasna has taken this initiative. I would also thank Praveen Khandelwal for giving us the opportunity to do this first of its kind MoU.
Under this MoU, the three institutions will collaboratively strengthen the MSME sector and generate new employment opportunities by working extensively in trade expansion, digital technology-driven trade solutions, skill development, training, and micro-enterprise incubation both in India and abroad.
The CAIT–Rasna agreement symbolizes growing cooperation between industry and the trading community and is considered a major step toward building a strong indigenous economy. This initiative will not only energize Indian trade but will also stand as a concrete and visionary step toward achieving the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Similarly, CAIT plans to enter into such agreements with several other Indian product and service sectors in the near future, with the aim of strengthening the MSME sector and establishing it as a key driver of the Indian economy.
